This exhibition explored the layered visual language of Mory, a Sudanese fabric merchant and photographer whose work is deeply influenced by his background in textiles. Drawing from a personal and generational connection to fabric trading between Cairo and Wad Madani, Mory’s portraits blend photography with textile as both medium and metaphor. The curation aimed to highlight this intersection, using fabric not only as a material element but as a narrative device reflecting memory, identity, and resilience. Through carefully selected works and an immersive display, the exhibition invited viewers to experience how fabric can be both a frame and a subject in contemporary visual storytelling.
