“HOMINID REALMS" - [October 2022]

Shangal is an artist, designer and a sculptor. His works contain his sculptural artistry and painting. Shangal has a special relationship with the Ethiopian art scene which made him work on creating links and cultural projects with Ethiopian Artists.

The exhibition will showcase the works of the artist Shangal dedicated to the revival of the heritage of ancient civilizations of Sudan, especially Mereoic sculpture. A collection of abstracted portraits that reflect immense aesthetics.

About The Artist

Abdelrahman Shangal

An artist, designer, sculptor, and assistant professor in the College of Fine and Applied Art, sculpture department, SUST, Sudan.
Shangal was born in Ad Damer, Sudan in 1960, and graduated from the faculty of art in 1985. He held many exhibitions in Sudan, Ethiopia, England, Russia, solely and collectively.
Shangal won the first prize for implementing the Human rights Memorial Monument in AU Building. He is interested in the revival of the heritage of the ancient civilization of Sudan, especially Mereotic sculpture. Beside contemporary Human Spaces.
His works are owned by official and private institutions, in addition to art works collectors. Locally and abroad.
